Andrea Olsen is the John C. Elder Professor of Environmental Studies and Professor of Dance at Middlebury College in Vermont. Author of Body and Earth, An Experiential Guide, and Bodystories: A Guide to Experiential Anatomy with Caryn McHose, she teaches internationally including annual Body and Earth training programs in Europe and the U.S. Andrea is on faculty of the teacher-training program at Yoga Center Amherst in Massachusetts, and recipient of several awards including a Fulbright Senior Scholar residency in New Zealand, Mellon funded initiatives in Ecuador, Germany, and Denmark, and a Contemplative Practice Fellowship through ACLS to introduce contemplative traditions into the college curriculum. She continues to perform globally, exploring the range and relevance of dance in contemporary societies. Andrea’s TEDxMonterey talk focused on how to approach innovation with your whole body and in turn how to be an effective and impassioned environmentalist.
